Bartreng Mammaen/FAMILIEN Club

Dear all

I'm a single mum with 3 kids and no family here in Luxembourg. I found myself many time struggling to organize something nice for my daughters in our free time (mainly weekend) and in particular considering a very limited budget but in the same time you have the will to socialize and to stay connected with other parents/commune...believe me is quite hard.

So reason why I came up with this very simple idea, but I think that it could be well welcomed by all our Community.

As far as I'm aware a new Maison Relais is going to be ready by 09/2025 and the one "Bei der Petruss" is going to be dismissed, so I started with this assumption and I hope to not be wrong. I'm assuming that who is interested on that service are mums because I'm in many whatsapp chats and we all have the same issues that is organize and engage kids in something nice and spending a qualitative time with them in a safe and nice environment. So it could be called also family club because I do not want to discriminate dads or whole family that of course are welcomed.

Thinking to not waste money, space and to improve the service of our commune, building a real community and a backbone for mums, it could be ideal - also from ecological point of view - to use that building that it's ready and in a good shape to help mums to have a space to share with their kids, to play with them, to party, to chat and to exchange on actual life. To have another place to call home and avoiding lonelyness situation that sometimes can happen without prior notice.

Rooms are already well equipped for coloring, panting, for performing games, a room for literature time and we can keep using the same materials.

I thought a limited budget because from a structural point of view we can use what we have and we can adapt it.

The management can be done by mums on volontary basis and may be with a rotation of activities/responsabilities.

The major costs will be the maintenance of that building but eventually we can figure it out a way if it's an issue (like as an example: we can involve local shops to sell something local or craftmans/hobbies, we can organize a swap event for adult/kids clothes, a familly can book a room to organize a Bday party for their kids, reading story events, cultural lunch buffet with the contribution of many family with priority to Bartreng families/mums)

We can create an opportunity for family to be part of the Community and to know better each other and to care and help each other.

It's essential that we are effective and that we create a positive impact on our territory. It will be wonderful to have an aggregation and warm place in the heart of our Commune.

So with a low budget we can make the difference.
